There is full disabled access at all three surgeries. Some clinics are held in consulting rooms upstairs, however, if you would prefer to be seen downstairs, please inform reception when you arrive.

However in the case of a medical emergency, you can still get through by phone; likewise there is a doorbell at both Pound House and Hawthornden Surgeries. We would ask that this is only used in the case of emergency.
- Nurses are available from 8.00am to 4.00pm
- Emergency telephone calls are only are taken between 1.00pm to 2.00pm
- For Test Results please call after 11.00am
Where appropriate, we will offer you an appointment on the day that you contact us.
We provide early evening and Saturday appointments as part of our Enhanced Access, please contact a member of our reception team if you would like further information regarding these
Please note the Orchard Surgery is closed on a Monday and Friday and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
Out of Hours
Enhanced Access
Requirements: To provide enhanced access appointments between the hours of 6:30pm to 8:00pm Monday to Friday and between 9:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday.
Service that we are currently providing as part of our enhanced access:
- Saturday: NHS Health Checks, Phlebotomy, Physio, Medication Queries, Medication Reviews, carried out by our remote Clinical Pharmacists
- Monday to Friday (evenings): GP telephone calls and Pharmacist telephone calls
Life Threatening
Call 999 or go to A&E now if:
- you or someone you know needs immediate help
- you have seriously harmed yourself – for example, by taking a drug overdose
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.
Urgent But Not Life Threatening
Visit an urgent care centre if:
- You have an urgent medical issue requiring on the day attention
Non-urgent
Use NHS 111 if:
- You need help now, but it’s not an emergency
There will be someone to provide you with advice and to direct you to a clinician if it is necessary.
